Port Commission declared a state of emergency earlier this evening. Like other businesses, the Port is grappling with the new reality of the effects of Coronavirus situation. The Port has seen declining revenues and has employees who deemed too high risk to come in to work. We are facing challenges on multiple fronts and appreciate this is a very challenging time for everyone. Businesses and workforce depend on us and we are doing everything we can to avoid layoffs and cutting services. The Port experienced the resiliency this community demonstrated in the past and we have full confidence that while the future is unclear, together we will overcome.
