Representatives from the US Forest Service presented to the Port Commission on October 17th in regard to the proposed trail system in Cascade Locks. The Port has invested in the proposed project over several years and was pleased to hear that the Forest Service has completed the required assessments of the land and is ready to move forward with the project. The next steps are to have a conceptual design for the proposed trailhead, wrap up field work, coordinate with BPA and Hood River County on safety guidelines and existing agreements. Final design on this project is projected to be finalized in August of 2020.
