Rent your own island for your wedding ceremony or next event! Thunder Island is a 3-acre island that was carved out of the mainland in 1890 to build the Cascade Canal and Locks to service a safe passage from the rapids for passanger and cargo ships.
The island now sits at quiet distance from the mainland, accessible by a footbridge. The island boasts the best views on the river and the Columbia Gorge.
