| Art in the Park: Sacagawea and Seaman Statues | ||||
The statues were unveiled and dedicated to Port Commissioner Jean McLean on April 13th, 2011. This date marked the 205th Anniversary of Lewis & Clark's return trip through Cascade Locks (April 13th, 1806). The community gathered for the dedication, live music from the Oregon Valley Boys, and appetizers catered by Portland Spirit while welcoming this beautiful addition into Cascade Locks. In addition to the statues, Sacagawea Circle boasts comfortable benches, native plants, lighting, interpretive signage, and electrical outlets for public use. This beautiful, peaceful site is a necessary stop anytime you're in Cascade Locks.
