Restoration of the Historic Locktender Homes:

The Port of Cascade Locks is committed to restoring each of the three Historic Locktender Homes to their original architecture. Thanks to a Preserving Oregon Grant, the restoration of the Community Center (House 3) is complete, and work on the Historical Museum (House 1) is underway.

This rehabilitation includes replacing siding that has been destroyed due to the strong Gorge wind and rain and other minor improvements both inside and outside. Over the past year the Port has renovated the inside of the Community Center to repair electrical wiring, hard wood flooring, kitchen, bathrooms and windows. The outside trim, gutter system, and historic siding were restored during summer 2010.
