Established Spring 2011 by community volunteers
Cascade Locks residents volunteered on Earth Day in 2011 to build six raised garden beds and one compost bin for the brand new Cascade Locks Community Garden. Since then, six beds have been added and a fence has been built around the garden. The Port donated the initial building materials and water.
The garden is located near the Community Center in the Marine Park. Community Garden beds are assigned on a first come first served basis. Garden members must sign a contract agreeing to follow the garden rules and guidelines. The produce grown in the garden belongs to the garden members.
If you are interested in reserving a garden bed for the upcoming season, please contact Port Recreation Coordinator Mayah Frank at 541-374-2405 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note: The Community Garden has been a free amenity for the past four years. In 2015, the Port is introducing a $10 annual fee to Garden Members in order to offset the cost of water and other materials and services.
